My Photography Approach

My Approach

01/04

Your Candid True Selves

I'm not about the posed, forced smiles that don't look real. My style is much more natural and easy-going. Right off the bat I want to get to know you to get a feel for how I can best capture you in a beautiful way. I like to use movement in a lot of my prompts for photos to create real laughs and moments. If you can give me your trust and be yourselves during the time we spend together, I promise you will get images that you will adore because you can see your real selves in them and not something else you thought you had to be.

Trust & Connection

Trust and connection goes such a long ways in photography. When there is trust and connection there, that is when I create my best work. My number one goal is to make my couples feel comfortable and just have a genuine great time. Many of my couples at the beginning of the session will say “Sorry in advance for our awkwardness, we're don't know how to pose”, and at the end of our session they're telling me how much easier and fun the session went than they thought. Trust me when I tell you I will guide you every step of the way and make it so that getting photos done doesn't have to be a chore.

Let's Break the Norm

Don't get me wrong, I love the meaningful traditions involved in your typical wedding day, but my adventurous side is so ready when you want to break the traditions and make the day your own. Want to jump in the river during the day? Or elope and end the night at a concert or festival? Let's do it! Wear a colorful wedding dress? Make it your own. My best advice for couples is to not give in to any pressure that family or friends have or what they think their wedding day needs to be, but instead do what your heart desires.

Investing in Timeless Memories

I want photography to be more than something on your checklist of things to do for your wedding. You might not realize it now while you’re so focused on centerpieces, and seating arrangement, and bridesmaid dress styles, and florals— but photography is really one of the only things that you have that is really tangible after your wedding day. The most common thing I hear from couples who went cheap on photos for their wedding is how much they regret it and wish they would have invested more. The significance of photos only increases over time as the images get passed down for generations.

A Dreamy, Timeless Style

My style is not one specific coloring or pose, because each couple I meet has a different story to tell and I want to capture exactly that. I will focus on how I can use the lighting, setting, and style of the couple to create the most artistic images from the moment we are given. I love photos that feel natural and are not so posed so I'll give you prompts that feel more like you are on a date just loving on each other how you normally would to create a real moment. I make sure that the way I’m interacting, shooting, and editing reflects who my couples are and how the session actually felt. This way you can remember your partner's goofy laugh or soft touch that your photos will show that you will treasure forever.

Here to be your Resource

This likely is your first time being a bride or groom so you might be just figuring it all out as you go. Since I’ve been to many weddings and have collected a handful of helpful tips when it comes to all the timeline and details of the day. What to do and not to do, what is worth investing in, how to get the most out of this experience, and plenty of other tips on how to get ready for your wedding I’ll make sure and share with you. I’m happy to help in any way that I can to make sure this is a stress-free experience for you!

Inclusive Love Stories for ALL

Love is love. Black lives matter. Climate change is real. Women's rights are human rights.

I aim to hold space for every individual who connects with my work, and to me, it is an honor to create an inclusive and safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. Without hesitation, pause, or question, I will lovingly document any milestones for any human.

Timeline

Step 1: Meet & Greet

After you submit the inquiry form you'll hear from me right away and you'll be able to pick a time on my calendar for a pre-consultation video call to chat and talk about which wedding collection you want for your big day. This is really where our first real interaction is and where we can really find out how we can vibe together and make the MAGIC happen.

Step 2: Make Things Official!

Once the retainer and contract are in and we're officially booked, that is when the real fun begins! We start hashing out all the exciting details that will be a part of your wedding day as I'll be checking in a few times until the big day. I've done this a time or two, and I'll be with you every step of the way and ready to answer any and all questions/tips/industry advice!

Step 3: Get Prepped + Engagement Session

During the months leading up to your wedding, I’ll act as a personal guide, offering vendor recommendations, tips and tricks, and more. If you choose a collection with an engagement session, we’ll schedule it at least three months before your wedding so that you can use the photos for your website, save the dates, and more.

Step 4: THE BIG DAY!!

The big day has finally arrived. I’ll get to your venue early to scout out the layout and lighting. Thanks to all the planning and prep we’ve done and wedding photography itinerary I've shared with you that we're set on, you can simply relax and enjoy the moment while I do my thing! :)

Let's do this thing!

Frequently Asked Questions...

Would we get a digital copy of the photos?

Yes! You will receive access to your own digital gallery of photos 4-6 weeks after the wedding date.

How do you describe your style?

My editing style brings out the warm hues in a photo while keeping it true to color. You won't have harsh contrast or colors that look unnatural, I want to bring out the real looking YOU — including plenty of laughs & beautiful candids. :) I'm laid back during the shoot + will try to make you laugh & make it fun for us both!

How does payment work?

My wedding packages include a $400 retainer (non-refundable) due when you book and sign the contract. The remaining balance is due at least one month prior to wedding day. I am flexible with dividing the package total into a five-way payment plan.

How many photos will we get?

You will receive 300+ edited photos from me about 4-6 weeks after the wedding date for all my packages. My 8 and 10-hour packages typically get 500+ photos from the day.

What does a normal wedding day look like?

With my most popular package — collection II with 8 hours of coverage, we will do getting ready details, first looks shots, family and wedding party photos, the ceremony, reception details, and some dance photos! My wedding packages include an online gallery that you will receive 4-6 weeks post wedding day.

Are prints included in the wedding packages?

Yes, my Silver and Gold wedding packages include printed photos from your wedding day that I will mail to you! :)
